Well, the frank answer is that I don't know, because I became famous before I could desire it! I was 18 (I'd watch Star Search feeling starstruck because I thought that was the only way I could ever get famous and it's impossible I get on it coz I am too short) when the blog started to give me a bit of fame, and luckily enough for me, I was still relatively unknown in Singapore Poly where not many people are interested in the internet. (I heard horror stories of the mean things people do to starlets who are still in school. Jolin Tsai said she had insults hurled at her everyday) What DO the people in Singapore Poly do anyway? I know JC people hang out in macdonalds mugging in their uniforms, maybe play sports and get disgusting singlet tans... ITE people... ok I have no idea what these people do either, but I see them in bus interchanges a lot somehow... SP people seem to do nothing. One classmate of mine did go home after school to cook dinner for her 3 younger siblings everyday though. She said when she turns 18 she will marry her Osim-chair-selling boyfriend. He was already going bald. Oh look at me go off on a tangent again! Gah. So, fame. Looking back, I suppose it is impossible for a person like me to not become famous. Since I was a kid, I crave attention like some mad drug addiction. I cannot be in a group and not have people listening to me, laughing at the things I say, and I detest other people to get more attention than me, especially if they are delibrately asking for it. Usually I work out some scheme to make people hate them. Of course it won't work, so I just avoid them. Hate fellow attention seekers! Look, there's only so much to go around, ok?! Get away from my territory! When I was in Primary School, I worked hard to excel in studies, because it was utmost sophistication then to be the top student. I also had two boyfriends before I turned 13, which I suppose was a pretty big deal. Everyone in EM1 knew who I was. (Was elitist and didn't really care about EM2 and 3 people.) In River Valley later on, it became impossible to be first in class, coz of the freaks there who knew trigonometry at the age of 3, so I just became a very bad girl indeed! (You know, just to contrast against the boring freaks) I, well, attempted to be a chao ah lian, and soon, the whole RV knew who I was. I suppose if I didn't have my smoldering/smouldering good looks and mad charm, I'd end up like one of those siao langs you see in that Yong Bu Yan Bai show, but lucky for me - I have a talent... Blogging! And of course blogging gave me all the attention I ever needed without resorting to wearing yellow panties and squawking in Singapore Idol. Girls Out Loud? What to do when you have conquered the blogging world? Cheers, to the next step in fame, darlings. Click here to see the winning entries |
