Dontcha just hate unexpected visitors? They come round uninvited and wreak havoc. Like your period for example. If you suffer from irregular or unexpected periods take action with the Being Girl guide to being in control.

Be prepared
When you know your period is due don’t wait for it to arrive before you get protected. Wear a thin pad like Whisper® Ultra Regular just in case. That way you’ll never be caught miles from a loo again. Whisper® Ultra OverNight will help you avoid any morning surprises too. Only use a tampon when you actually have your period though.

Get the right products
If your periods are irregular you might find you have a heavy flow one month, then some light spotting the next. That’s why you need a good selection of products. Go to product selector to find the perfect Whisper for you.

Plan ahead
Time flies and it can be hard to keep track of when a month has past. That can make your period seem more irregular than it actually is. Devise a secret code for your diary. Mark the days when you are ‘on’. Then you can predict when you’re next due and mark those days too. When it comes to taking control over your periods, knowledge is power!

Stock up
Take your pocket money down to the chemist, offer to help your mum with the shopping, or discretely add Whisper® to her shopping list. Try whatever it takes to make sure you’ve got enough Whisper® to keep your bedside draw, bathroom cabinet, school bag and/or locker fully stocked. That way it doesn’t matter how unpredictable your periods are – you’ll always be ready!

Being Girl Top Tip: It’s perfectly normal and natural to have irregular periods for up to two years after you start. For some girls it takes even longer for a routine to get established. Visit your GP for some advice if you’re worried about irregular periods.
