Make up like a diva with our handy guide. First of all, how are your eyebrows? No amount of make up will give you diva glam if you’ve got scraggy ‘brows. Whether they’re small and thin or thick and full, glam requires they should always be impeccably shaped and stray-hair-free. Skin You’re going for the flawless skin look, so the general rule is to look after your skin and drink lots of water. On the make up front, use a good sheer foundation and cover up dark circles and blemishes with concealer. Set your foundation with a translucent powder and you’re ready for some fun. Colours When choosing colours, think about how they’ll work together on your whole face, not just for isolated areas, like eyes and lips. You’re going for the full effect. Eyes Be bold! Choose your main colour and 1 or 2 complementary colours and be as daring or as subtle as you like. Diva glam is all in the application, so use makeup brushes to blend the colours well. Start with your base colour (dark lavender, say) and blend in your colours gradually, finishing with the lightest colour on your brow (like a light pink shimmer). When it comes to eyeliner, liquid eyeliner gives the best finish but you’ll need a steady hand! Try resting it on a solid surface. Finish off with mascara or false eyelashes and you’re ready to smoulder! Face Using blusher and highlighter cleverly can completely transform your look and give you the cheekbones you’ve always dreamt of. Experiment with blushers in different colours and highlight areas that you want to bring out. Be careful with highlighter and shimmers though - you don’t want to end up looking too shiny! Nails This is the easiest part of your diva glam make-over. Lips Use lip liner to define the shape of your lips. To make them look plumper, run the line just outside the natural edge of your lips, to make them slimmer use it just inside. To make your cupid’s bow (that curvy bit at the top of your lips) more defined use a dab of highlighter. It takes effort to perfect your look, but it will be worth it. And remember to keep working on it, if, like all good divas, you want to stay ahead of the crowd.
