Is your slap-pac more mouldy than must-have? Does a friend have to sit on your vanity case before you can close it? Sounds like you’re in need of a make-up bag make-over! Follow this simple guide and your face will thank you for it…
- Sort your make-up into ‘use regularly’, ‘use on special occasions’ and ‘never use’. Chuck out the third pile.
- Make-up has a Use-By Date. Old lipsticks and mascaras harbour bacteria and turn yucky. Replace or throw away anything over a year old.
- Don’t confuse yourself with lippy overload . Pick your five fav shades of lippy and ditch the rest.
- Get rid of anything that came free with a magazine. They’re always poor quality and take up valuable make-up bag real estate.
- Edit anything that isn’t cool anymore or never suited you in the first place.
- Now you’ve cleared some space, it’s time to restock . Ask your mates about their ‘must have’ products. A recommendation from a pretty friend is loads more reliable than a too-good-to-be-true ad.
- Book a make-over with a department store make-up counter attendant. They’re usually free. Take what’s left of your make-up collection and they’ll help you chose key items to update your look. Just be sure to choose an affordable brand when you book. Then you can buy with abandon!
- Revive your make-up brushes and wash them in shampoo and warm water.
- Check back with Beinggirl.com.sg every month for hot tips on make, hair and beauty.
