Sleepovers

Mum's finally agreed to let you have six of your closest best friends over for a sleepover- so how do you make sure it's one to remember rather than one big snore? When it comes to a party - and hey, what else is a sleepover if not a party in pyjamas? - then planning is everything. So get organising to ensure your big night equals one snooze-free sleepover.

But what to do? Why not try giving your sleepover a theme? Hit the DVD shop and rent the latest movie that features your favourite heart throb. Now your sleepover doubles up as movie marathon - what's not to like? Or it could be a chick flick fest(we like The Titanic, Legally Blonde, The Princess Diaries or Moulin Rouge) or if you're feeling really brave, you could dim the lights and watch something scary...but only if none of your guests are afraid of the dark!

If a movie marathon is a little lacking in gossip - a sleepover essential - then how about playing a truth game? Give your friends a pen and a piece of paper and get everyone to write down a list of questions, which are then placed in a hat. Each guest then has to take it in turns to pull out a question and MUST answer truthfully...or face the consequences. What better way to find out if your friend really does fancy that cute guy in the class next door? Or you could play a truth version of Spin the Bottle - whoever the bottle points to has to answer a question asked by the rest of the guests. Or else...

Or you could play True or False in which you all write down a secret - some true, some false and then you have to guess which ones are which - again, another great way to find out if your friend is telling the truth when she says she doesn't fancy that cute guy in the class next door! If you and your pals are all out of gossip, why not combine your sleepover with a makeover session? Get out the nail polish, make up brushes, hair straighteners or curlers and get to work creating fab new looks for one another.

Giving yourselves a whole new style darling, (even if you'd never let it out of the house) is a great way for you and your friends to bond.

Finally, why not truly make it a night to remember by creating a time capsule together. Ask all your friends to bring along an item that says the most about them as well as a note to place in the box describing one another's best characteristics. Take some polaroid shots and place these in the box also. Then, before your friends go home the next day, bury it in the garden together - agreeing upon a date in the future in which you will dig it up. This is a perfect way to bond as a group and have a future sleepover date in your diary to look forward to. Sleepover's need never involve sleep again!
