We asked three teenage girls to dish the dirt on their worst ever friendship fall-out

"I have two best friends at school. We literally did everything together, until they went on a double date and ended up going steady with these two complete losers. They still talked to me in class, but at break they'd go off with them, leaving me on my own. It really upset me, but I made the effort and started hanging around with a new bunch of people. Two weeks later they broke up with the lads and wanted to be my mate again. I left them in suspense for a while, but eventually forgave them. Now we look back and laugh at the whole thing, especially the fact that they fancied those idiots in the first place."

"My best friend and I are both pretty fiery, so when we quarrel, we can be really mean to each other. Because we know each other backwards, we know exactly how to hurt the other. One argument became so heated I lost my temper and called her every name under the sun. She pushed me and my Mum had to come in and break it up. We didn't talk for weeks - I seriously thought that was it. But then one of my friends told me she was really sorry so I gave in and sent her a text. Once we got over our pride and apologised, everything was great again. Now we've made a pact to walk away from each other and simmer down if an argument reaches boiling point again."

"People nicknamed my friend and I 'the terrible twosome' because we were never apart. We told each other everything. Until one day, a girl in my class took me to one side and said that my friend had been calling me a 'spoilt little princess' behind my back. Granted, my parents are pretty well-off, but it was such a slap in the face to find out she'd said that. I gave her the silent treatment until she sent me a letter explaining it all. Apparently, she only said that because she was envious that I have a wardrobe full of expensive clothes and go on holiday abroad, whereas her folks can't afford that. It took me a long time to forgive her but I'm glad I did now. Nobody's perfect - we all say things we don't mean sometimes."
